Top 10 strangest and innovative products at CES 2019.

What and when is CES 2019?

The 2019 International CES began on Tuesday, 8 January and ends on Friday, 11 January. It’s been taking place since 1967 and is staged by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), a trade organization that represents over 2,000 consumer tech companies in the U.S. Though it gets a lot of attention from the world’s media, this is not an event where the public can go see the latest tech. Unlike the IFA exhibition in Berlin each August, the CES is open only to the electronics trade, as well as journalists, bloggers and plenty of blaggers.

This is a list of the 10 strangest and innovative products.

1. LG Signature Oled R-W

LG Signature Oled R is a television that can be rolled up. The invention is worthy without shade of doubt of the first place among the most interesting products introduced to the CES 2019. Protagonist of the resigns press of the whole world. This tv can be rolled up on herself thanks to a present roll in the custody in brushed aluminum.

When the television is not used it can comfortably be refolded. The same diving-suit of the tv has a double function, it acts in fact also from reproducing audio to high fidelity. The price has not been communicated yet, but you/he/she should debut within the end of the year.

2. Boeing and Bell’s ‘flying cars’.

Bell Helicopter showed-off a full-scale ‘air taxi’ named Bell Nexus that will – you guessed it – “redefine air travel”.

What are Bell and Boeing doing?

Last week, Boeing successfully completed the first test flight of its autonomous passenger air vehicle prototype in Manassas, Virginia. Called Boeing NeXt, this urban air mobility project saw a 9×8-metre craft complete a controlled vertical takeoff, hover and landing during a flight that also tested the vehicles autonomous functions and ground control systems. Further tests are scheduled, with the electrically propelled vehicle designed to travel 50 miles.

“This is what revolution looks like, and it’s because of autonomy,” said John Langford, president and chief executive officer of Boeing subsidiary Aurora Flight Sciences. “Certifiable autonomy is going to make quiet, clean and safe urban air mobility possible.”

Meanwhile, the Bell Nexus is powered by a hybrid-electric propulsion system that features a powered lift concept using six tilting ducted fans. The system also includes ‘pods’ for passengers that can be attached to the propulsion structure.

“As space at the ground level becomes limited, we must solve transportation challenges in the vertical dimension – and that’s where Bell’s on-demand mobility vision takes hold,” said Mitch Snyder, president and CEO of Bell. “The industry has anticipated the reveal of our air taxi for some time.”

Are flying cars for passengers?

Yes, but although this flight of Boeing’s eVTOL aircraft is designed to carry passengers, the Boeing NeXt portfolio also includes an unmanned fully electric cargo air vehicle (CAV). Designed to transport up to 500lb, Boeing’s CAV completed its first indoor flight last year and will transition to outdoor flight testing in 2019.

“Boeing was there when the aviation industry was born and in our second century, we will unlock the potential of the urban air mobility market,” said Steve Nordlund, vice president and general manager of Boeing NeXt. “From building air vehicles to airspace integration, we will usher in a future of safe, low-stress mobility in cities and regions around the world.”

3. Hyundai’s ‘walking car’.

Hyundai showed off a new concept vehicle that could make it easier to reach victims of natural disasters: a ‘walking car’, which uses articulated legs to navigate off-road following floods, fires and earthquakes.

The vehicle, named Elevate, combines tech from electric cars and quadruped robots (like Boston Dynamics’ SpotMini). Each of its legs is also equipped with a wheel, enabling it to either drive or walk to its destination – or both.

When the car is in drive mode, the legs are folded up and power to the joints is cut to extend battery life. However, when the going gets tough, it can adopt either a reptilian or mammalian gait, and leap across five-foot gaps. That’s not something you could say of your typical 4×4.

“When a tsunami or earthquake hits, current rescue vehicles can only deliver first responders to the edge of the debris field. They have to go the rest of the way by foot. Elevate can drive to the scene and climb right over flood debris or crumbled concrete,” said John Suh, vice president and head of Hyundai’s Center for Robotic-Augmented Design in Living Experiences (CRADLE).

3. Foldimate laundry-folder.

Hiding in one of the halls at CES 2019 is the Foldimate laundry-folder, and it may just do what smart washing machines have failed to do so far – make cleaning your clothes fun.

You manually insert items of clothing into the Foldimate by clipping them in, but that’s all you’ll need to do. About five seconds later the machine spits them out at the bottom and makes a bell noise when it’s complete.

4. Sharp’s 8K.

First spotted by Kinotika, on the Sharp stand at the show, the new camera is currently simply known as ‘8K video camera’ – so hopefully between now and its official launch Sharp will come up with a more exciting name for it.

Like the Blackmagic Pocket 4K Cinema Camera (what is it with the boring names?), Sharp’s new video camera features a Micro Four Thirds sensor and lens mount, so it can enjoy a range of optics from both Panasonic and Olympus, as well as other third-party manufacturers.

While the Blackmagic camera can shoot 4K at up to 60p, Sharp’s new video camera can shoot in 8K at 30p using the H.265 codec. If that’s not already impressive, Sharp is talking about getting that up to 60p, while the camera is also said to feature in-camera stabilization, although at the moment it’s not clear if it’s going to be in-body stabilization or an electronic system.

5. Technics SL-1200 / SL-1210 MK7.

The return of a much-loved line, the Technics SL-1200 MK7 (AKA the SL-1210 MK7 in the UK and Europe) looks to deliver what earlier models managed, but at a more palatable price point of $1200 / £899. This works out at around AU$1600, although Australian prices are yet to be confirmed.

A favorite among DJs, the design retains the S-shaped aluminum tone arm of earlier builds and an aluminum die-cast chassis. According to our friends at What Hi-Fi, that’s likely one of the cost cutting areas, with the deck using a “special material consisting of ABS mixed with glass fibre” rather than the aluminum and BMC of Technics earlier high-end models.

Not that the ABS/glass fibre mix should turn you off, with a new core-less direct drive inside designed to prevent fluctuations in rotation speed and a new Reverse Play feature for those looking to mess around with 78rpm.

6. AMD 7nm Ryzen 3rd Generation.

At its CES 2019 keynote, AMD debuted an unnamed octa-core, 16-thread part based on the company’s new 7nm Zen 2 architecture. The new CPU seems to be made specifically to go head-to-head with Intel’s flagship Core i9-9900K.

On stage, AMD benchmarked its secretive processor with Cinebench and it achieved a score of 2023 – by our own benchmarks the Intel Core i9-9900K and AMD Ryzen 7 2700X scored 1,873 and 1,798 points, respectively. Basically, you’re looking at a 12% increase in performance with this AMD Ryzen 3rd Generation processor.

What’s even more amazing is it seems AMD Ryzen 3rd Generation is even more power efficient than Intel Coffee Lake Refresh. During its Cinebench demo, AMD also displayed the maximum power draw of the Intel system running at 179.9-watts while the new Ryzen system maxed out at 133.4-watts – which makes it about 30% more power efficient.

7. Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060.

Nvidia didn’t announce any specific specifications for its new mid-range GPU, but it promised that it would be more powerful than even an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Ti. Additionally, Team Green showed off how the RTX 2060 was capable of playing Battlefield V at Ultra settings and RTX On at well above 60 fps thanks to DLSS also being enabled.

Nvidia also announced a new pair of game bundles with its latest graphics cards. Users interested in buying an RTX 2060 or RTX 2070 will be able to redeem a code to receive a digital copy of either Anthem or Battlefield V. Meanwhile, those who purchase a Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 will get digital codes for both titles with their purchase.

8. McAfee and Google Assistant.

At CES 2019, McAfee announced the launch of new Secure Home Platform voice commands for Google Assistant, which will enable you to keep track of your whole network without fiddling with software and app interfaces.

Secure Home Platform will come built into routers and gateways, and will let you perform security checks using spoken commands. For example, you could ask your Google Home speaker how many devices are currently connected, or ask your Sonos One to scan the network for weaknesses.

“From connected toasters to smart TVs consumers are enjoying the conveniences associated with the IoT devices as they enhance their everyday lives, but so are cybercriminals,” said Shailaja Shankar, McAfee’s general manager for mobile and ISP business units.

“For that reason, consumers must evolve their approach to cybersecurity to keep pace with today’s rapidly-changing environment. In an increasingly connected home, managing security must be simple. The McAfee Secure Home Platform Actions for the Google Assistant empowers consumers with an easy way to manage their home’s network security using their voice.”

9. Samsung’s 98-inch Q900 QLED 8K.

As if 85-inches of 8K TV wasn’t enough, at CES 2019 Samsung has already outdone itself mere months after revealing its debut 8K OLED. It revealed a brand-new 8K Q900 QLED set, measuring in at a massive 98-inches.

Sales of Samsung’s screens over 75 inches have more than doubled over the last year in the US, and Samsung looks set to double down on super-sized screens to go with the next-generation of super-sized TV resolutions.

The Samsung 98-inch Q900 QLED will once again take advantage of Quantum Dot screen tech, as well as making use of Direct Array Mobile Dimming, ensuring the contrast of a the screen is as rich as it can be for each scene. Yoon Lee, Senior Vice President Samsung Electronics America, said it will deliver “incredible color and contrast that others can’t compete with.”

Ready to support HDMI 2.1, the forthcoming HDMI standard that can deliver adaptive framerates and advanced audio formats such as Dolby Atmos, the screen will also leverage the power of AI to upscale 4K content (and lower) to pristine 8K resolution. It uses thousands of individual algorithms to achieve this.

In addition addition, Samsung’s Bixby AI voice controller, working alongside other services such as Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, will be able to control all manner of menu and TV guide options on screen, including jumping intelligently to whichever show you’ve been bingeing from Amazon Prime Video.

Select sets from the new Q900 range will go up for pre-order today in the United States. While pricing has yet to be shared, those looking to buy into the latest Samsung has to offer won’t have long to wait.

10. BMW Motorrad R1200 GS.

BMW Motorrad R1200 GS is the first example of motorcycle to completely autonomous guide and it has been disclosed by the Bavarian producer in Nevada. The motorcycle in phase of demonstration has in fact initiated to trace trajectories in complete autonomy on the asphalt turning on alone itself, climbing marches, parking itself and extinguishing itself without the human intervention.

The Top 10 most beautiful Christmas trees in the world.

Here are the most beautiful Christmas trees of 2018 and yesteryear!

The Frozen theme is still going strong. Hence, Galeries Lafayette’s chosen Christmas décor for 2016. The biggest department store in Paris and the only one sporting an Art Nouveau, 100-century old dome 43 metres up, Galeries Lafayette Haussmann turned to artist Lorenzo Papace to build art with an environmental and social reach.

The tree is made entirely of recycled paper, while a representation of bears and cubs shows them abandoning their crib on the North Pole in search of a new ice pack that has not melted yet.

Shoppers can also empathize with the polar bears’ plight by way of a virtual trip on the second floor of the store, where they can download the free app for Android and iOS and watch the mall magically transform into a swirl of snow and paper animals.

You can build everything out of LEGO, including a 450,000 bricks full, 3500 kilograms heavy Christmas tree.Ryan NcNaught has been in charge of putting the Southern Hemisphere on Santa’s map this year by erecting a towering LEGO tree to put other evergreens to shame. The creator and his team of LEGO builders invested some 1200 hours into creating a Christmas phenomenon.

The man is a rare breed, just like his tree. Ryan McNaught is one of only 14 LEGO Certified Professionals in the world. His 10m tall Christmas tree has already been on a tour Down Under, in Sydney and Melbourne, but the Kiwi version includes – no surprise here – a LEGO rugby ball, a pukeko, some Kiwi, and a local kingfisher. Who says modern art doesn’t pay homage to tradition?

A spruce to rival the towering St. Peter’s Basilica was erected in St. Peter’s Square this year, as the Nativity Scene featuring 17 life-size statues focused on such heavy themes as migration and the refugees issue.

This particular tradition is not as old as the Church, as you might thing. Pope John Paul II initiated it when he imported the Christmas tree as a Northern symbol of holiday cheer and unification.

This year, the grandiose illumination of the 94-foot tall Norway spruce at the Rockefeller Center was a typically extravagant affair. On display were 50,000 multicolored LED lights, among which the invariably present Swarovski star weighing a staggering 550 pounds and numbering some 25,000 crystals.

The tradition took root in 1931, when a group of demolition workers cropped up their own Christmas on the construction site of the Rockefeller Center with a 20-foot tall balsam fir.

You don’t have to wait for the cherry blossoms to light up Japan in magical colors when you have a Guinness record holder for “Most lights on an artificial X-mas tree”.

550,000 lights make for quite a dazzler on the Island of the Rising Sun. It’s no surprise the Japanese have managed to yet again hold the trophy for most ribbons, sparkle and glamour on Christmas. Snow may be a rare sight on this tip of the island, but it’s the sixth year Osaka’s Christmas tree has earned this title.

Another Christmas miracle? Floating on a barge in the Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon, the Brazilian Christmas tree made a spectacular appearance in 2014 on a background of a dazzling show of fireworks.

The 279-foot high mammoth tree blinked with the power of 3.3 million micro light bulbs, which reflected brilliantly in the waters of the South American lagoon.

Another eyecatcher that may have accounted for many missed trains and canceled meetings, the Disney Christmas Tree set up in London’s St. Pancras train station was stuffed with 45-foot high worth of fluffy toys. The Disney characters ran the gamut from the classics Mickey, Ariel, and Dumbo to the more modern Elsa from the movie Frozen.

Keeping up with a seven century-old tradition, the Island of Murano brings glassware to life with their creative decorations. Of course, Christmas is crossed off the list when the glass blowers set up for work.

Every year, the Natale di Vetro, or Christmas in Glass hosts an elegant Christmas tree entirely made of Murano glass. Fortunately, the winds are mild on this side of Venice, so the tree will not shatter too easily.

Once upon a time, there was a tree that could fulfill all desires. And you could find it no farther than at the V&A Museum in London. A modern spin-off on an Indian classic “tree of life”, the Kalpataru design piece by a couple of Delhi artists stood its ground amid various other masterpieces on display.

Handcrafted beaten brass was the primary material used in the making of the postmodern Kalpataru, while the colored motifs depicted scenes from the Indian mythical scene and Diwali celebrations.

With a 40.4% Christian population, Lebanon has certainly made it to the big league of the most beautiful Christmas trees of all times.

Every year, Byblos is home to an architectural masterpiece that springs up in the square of the world’s oldest port just in time for Santa and his gift-heavy sleigh. Last year’s design kept true to Lebanese local tradition while incorporating elements reminiscent of the tricky rocks hidden in the port’s waters and the sailing skills of the people.

The rule does not say that the most beautiful Christmas trees need to have blossomed from tiny seedlings in the ground. On the contrary, it’s the human spirit and creativity that pours into the design and oversees that an evergreen remains so on a floating barge in Brazil or a train station in London.

Dna as hard disk of the future

The choice of the Dna would seem due to its ultra-compact aspect and his effectiveness of storage. In fact the relationship between quantity of the information and  the space occupied it would seem of big long superior to the actual methods of data storage. Other fundamental factor would revert in the ability of its molecules, preserved in their natural habitat, to stay stable in the time so that the information can hand down without suffering mutations. Unthinkable situation with the actual technologies.

Hard Disk.

The research and the obtained results.

New York Genome Center.

The first studies  started in 2012 and have been conducted by some researchers of the university in Harvard. The data storage has happened following the conversion of the contained binary information in the digital data (0 and 1) in the contained quaternary information in the Dna, represented by the nucleotide bases ( A, T, G and C).
The job conducted to Harvard has served as a starter to further scientific examinations. For example collaboration between Dina Zielinski of  the New York Genome Center and Yaniv Erlic of Columbia University, the storage of the data inside the Dna would not have more secret.
The two researchers have announced that they have individualized the algorithm, denominated “Dna fountain”, that allows a complete conversion of the data. They have succeeded to get a process without errors and 60% more efficient in comparison to the preceding results.

We are speaking of 215.000.000 gigabytes in a gram of Dna.

The warehouse in the Dna to study the cellular evolution.

The neuroscientist Seth Shipman, together with his group of job has shown that it is possible to insert an image or a video inside the Dna of a living organism. They have succeeded in codifying a GIF, that represents a man to the gallop, of 36 x26s pixel  inside the bacterium E. Coli.

Gif: Seth Shipman/Nature Research

Now we provide information on the Dna that we know. We want to record information that we don’t know. One day we could highly follow all the passages from a stem cell to a specialized type highly of cells of the brain, bringing so to a best understanding of  the biological trials  and how they are coordinated.

The Tax billets on CR7

The case was closed between Ronaldo and the Spanish tax authorities.

In the life of Cristiano Ronaldo there are not only family, training and goals but also legal processes, which have been going on for years, difficult to forget. One of these cases and, perhaps, the most noisy of all (since the crimes date back to the period between 2011 and 2014) is that of tax evasion; however, apparently we have finally reached an agreement. It was approved by the Hacienda and provides a fine of 19 million and 2 years in prison: the latter sentence is suspended in exchange for the declaration of guilt.

A discount for CR7.

The Spanish tax office subsequently reduced the fine to Cristiano Ronaldo and was reduced from 18.8 million to 16.7.

The Spanish Tax Agency has recognized to CR7 that it has paid VAT in Spain for the sale of its image rights to two Asian companies of Peter Lim, owner of Valencia.

Therefore, the fine has been reduced: Ronaldo has already paid about 14 million and should soon close the issue, paying the last millions foreseen by the sentence.

Galaxy S10 E, the low cost model of Samsung

The South Korean society, Samsung is not going too much well. Due to the minor earnings expeted from the model Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9 + models. Furthermore, there is the Chinese company, Huawei which is going really well, is in the second position of the total seller of smartphone, behind Samsung. Consequently, the South Korean society is trying to change it’s way of doing. This by creates more variants of the same model, the Galaxy S10. This version will be low cost in contrast with the originl one. In fact it’s name is Galaxy S10 E.

Smaller than other the model

This is more comfortable for the utilization with one hand or just in the daily use. In contrast if you like the commodity of watching your phone on a big screen, we do not recomend the Galaxy S10 Ee to you.

Instagram “accidental” update, why people are freaking out

On Thursday, Instagram “accidental” update it’s social network app, with its 1 billion monthly active users. The Instagram update completely change  the way we use it. Because we are accustomed to navigate through the post, the feed with an vertical swipe. In contrast, with the “accidental” (quotation marks explained below) update, to navigate through the feed you have to swipe horrizontal, like in the photo here below.

Instagram bug

This Instagram update, was a bug. In fact, according to the social app and Adam mossori this update was’t programmed to be release so early and to so much people. Becuase, when Instagram want to release an update in the future, before they let a small amount of people trying it. Seems like they expanded the “trial” Instagram update to everybody.

Furthermore, a spokesperson Instagram told to TechCrunch that, for responding to the critics that:

“We’re always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and bring you closer to the people and things you love,”

“accidental” update

Probably, this “accidental” update wasn’t so an error by Instagram. For the reason that maybe it is just a way to prepare it’s users to this shocking update.                             Furthermore if and when Instagram will release this update the time we spent on switching through ours feed will decrease. For the reason that we will no more see the white horizontal line that separated the various posts but one post after another thus increasing the post totals we see. so, more visualizations of pubblicity and more big data collections.                                   As a result, more profit for the society.

Reaction of the public to the Instagram update

Seems like the community of Instagram, didn’t like so much the new update, a little bit like Youtube rewind 2018 😉

For example the Swedish singer, Zara Larsson:

Singapore rating has such an high grade, why?

The city-state Singapore has a very elevate debt/ GDP, 112% but has still the highest rating that a country can achive, AAA. In contrast for what the IFM say, that when the rapport between the GDP and the debt is over the 100%, that’s not very good.

This is true but there are exceptions like the Singapore rating, but now let’s see why.

What is a rating?

Like the Singapore rating, this a a sequence of letter that defind the total estiamte probability that a country will go in deafult. Further, there are different agency that give ratigs but just three are the most important, and the one on which the most investitor and country focus:

The ratings are given by different agency but generally there are the three most important  for these type of analysis which influence most the world:

Agency of ratings Fitch
Agency of ratings Fitch

On different part of the year, they pubblic documen with the position of the country, (likewise the rating of Singapore) or too a society in a determinated scale that you can see in this picture below.

Tabel ratings
Tabel ratings

What is debt and how is releted to the Singapore rating?

Every year, almost every countries in the world needs to do debt to pay it’s expenses. Likewise Singapore. For instance, pensions, investments, paying past debts, anything. So, they emit debt, they ask people to give them a total amount of money and in exchange they will give them the money borrowed plus interest.

For example, there is Italy that needs some money for pay pensions, it goes to you and say “hey, I give you $ 100 plus interest (percentage of the total amount of money borrowed”. Consequently, you say yes to Italy and you will receive your $ 100 (if Italy don’t default) and plus a percentage of the total money borrowed.

This percentage depend on the ratings of the three agency. Because they say how high is the probability that the country won’t be able to pay back it’s debt. So, more probability equal to more money in interest but it is riskier. Due to the highr probability that the country will defualt. So, in conclusion, if the Singapore rating is the highest grade, then it’s possibility of default are ery low.

Why Singapore rating has a triple A?

The reasons of the Singapore rating this are multiple, the first is it has a very high grow (2-3%). This is contributed by the fact that the city-state is a very great place to create or conduct a society.

The second grounds is that there is a law which prevented the country from making deficits. This means that the governament is bound to have a balanced budget at the end of their mandate.

Another reason to the rating of Singapore is that the Malaysian state have a very high surplus and their pubblic company are well organized such as Singapore Airlines. Moreover Singapore is among the 11 states to own a triple A.

Country which have the triple-A rating

  • Australia
  • Canada
  • Denmark
  • Germany
  • Luxembourg
  • Holland
  • Norway
  • Singapore
  • sweden
  • Switzerland
  • USA

Why we are on the lows since 2003

The maximum number of country with an AAA grade, was between 2004 and 2009. for instance the countries with the triple-A were 16. One of the main causes of this decreasewas the 2008 economic crisis. Homewere, the rating of Singapore seems like to tay there and don’t change for a while.

why there was no warning?

Unfortunately, there was no alarm about the arrival of the natural disaster. for the reason that:

“We used to know that a tsunami happens after an earthquake. There was no quake last night. That is why there was no warning,” he said referring to the underwater landslides.

Cause of the Indonesian tsunami

The meteorological and geological agency Indonesian reported that:

Seems like, the tsunami is the response to different landslides, caused by a vulcanic eruption.

Past disasters

The tremendous tsunami in Indonesia, along with many other natural disasters that have recently broken down, are bringing the country to its knees or otherwise in serious difficulty.
